Talc inclusions in quartz

Weight: 11.06 ct
Size: 21.9 x 16.8 x 5.8 mm

Greenish inclusions of talc flakes forming spherical aggregates and “flowers” in colorless quartz.
These inclusions are frequently described as “cookeite” inclusions in quartz due to visual similarity to this mineral.
We performed SEM-EDX analysis of this material to confirm cookeite as inclusion, but surprisingly identified that these nice greenish spheres are formed by talc plates! Such type of aggregates is quite typical for talc, see Mindat info on this mineral.

Great sample for you collection of inclusions!
